About the Canobolas Highland Pipe Band
The Canobolas Highland Pipe Band (originally called the Orange District Scottish Pipe Band) is a social band based in Orange NSW. Since it’s formation in the 1940’s, the band has continued to grow and currently performs in a number of community and private functions across the Central West of NSW including:
– Balls
– Weddings
– Funerals
– ANZAC Day commemorations
– Other community events.
We have members from Orange and Bathurst and regularly join with other pipe bands for performances. The pipe band wear the Mackenzie tartan in honour of the original Pipe Major, Jock Mackenzie.
The band currently has 10 pipers and a drum corps of 6, with standard of pipers ranging from intermediate to advanced in skill. Experienced players and learners are welcome to attend practice Wednesday nights from 7pm at Legacy House, McNamara Street Orange.
